Alentus is pleased to announce that SharePoint Foundation 2010 hosting is available. We have had a number of customers waiting for us to begin offering this new technology. We have been taking our time getting familiar with it, and getting it going using FBA (Forms Based Authentication – A new fancy way of user management and authentication).
We have had programmers working on creating customized user management web parts just for Alentus. They are finished, working well, and new features will continue to be implemented for them.
If you have a SharePoint site on an earlier version such as WSS 3.0, sorry but Microsoft did not create an easy upgrade path to SharePoint 2010. If you want to move to SP 2010, you need to make that request to our Sales department of your request to move to SP 2010. Then we need to setup your new blank site, and you have to re-create your users, folders, and upload your content. If you have SharePoint Designer 2010 you may be able to use that, or perhaps move content via Windows Network Places. Until such time as Microsoft creates a migration tool, the work to move your content to the new version is unfortunately on your shoulders to do all the work.
